TOGETHER Lisa
and Toni were introduced to the National Sunshine Pageant System which
originated in Ohio. They both competed (against each other as a matter of
fact) in the system for many years, held many titles, earned scholarship
money, and most importantly, became close friends. As adults, they both came
full circle back to the Sunshine System. Lisa, as the New England
Director, International Public Relations Director and eventually Vice
President, and Toni as the West Coast Preliminary Director.
Both of them being honored as
International Director of the Year several times. They were impressed
with the system which seemed to have the best interests of the contestant at
heart. They encouraged friendships and self-improvement, so every one felt they
had benefitted from the pageant whether they had won the title or not.
Now, having formed an alliance and venturing on their own, Lisa
and Toni have patterned their events along these lines, while continually making
improvements to benefit contestants. They encourage not making "winning"
the only reason for entering a pageant, and prove that all contestants win with
the new self-awareness and friends they make.
